How I’m Losing Weight
I’m losing weight by eating a balanced diet of lean meats, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. I (try to) keep sweets, junk food, fast food, fried foods, alcohol, and binging to a minimum. I do have a set calorie limit for each day, but it changes as my weight reduces.
I see Sonthe (aka Greek Momma) (dietitian) on a weekly basis for nutrition counseling and progress tracking. I also see Dr. Dan Bowman, a psychologist, on a bi-weekly basis.
I also drink at least 64oz. of water every day and drink as much black coffee as I want. I stay away from sugary drinks like regular soda and sweet tea. Occasionally, I will have a diet soda.
I exercise often, and my exercise of choice is running. I have another blog, Aspiring Runner, that documents my journey to becoming a runner. I have some wonderful folks that assist me in the fitness department: Danny Haralson (running coach), Any Time Fitness Vestavia Hills, AL, Anytime Fitness/Anytime Health, and YMCA.
TRUST ME, the MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do is MOVE EVERY DAY! Start out by doing what you can, maybe walking (that’s how I started), and keep doing it every day. Your distance and speed will increase rapidly….
The HOW in how I’m losing weight is not “rocket surgery” as Danny Haralson will say.
Do you have a question? Don’t be bashful!! send me a message.

Hi
I’m adding your blog to my links to come and read when I need inspiration. Sunday I set out to lose somewhere between 80 and 100 pounds. I’m doing old Weight Watchers (the new one made me gain), and going to the gym. But what I need more than anything else is a good support system. Hoping to do some networking on different fitness/weight loss blogs and gain the best one I can!.
Again, thank you for working so hard and being an inspiration. I’ll be back.
you’re story is so inspiring.. wow.. congrats to you on the weight loss.. you have definitely become my go to blog for inspiration..
