Glorious Sleep & Back on Track

I slept for a long time on Sunday, approximately 12 glorious hours of sleep, catching up on missed sleep from my all-over-the-place work schedule. That long sleep just murdered my back, but was worth the pain. It might be time to get a new mattress .. Have you priced mattresses lately? They range from $100 – $3000 for a twin mattress (I don’t have much room in my bed room for a bigger bed.) I had no idea mattress prices could go so high! Anyway, I’m making sure that I get as much sleep as I need. I feel so much better now that I’m well rested.

In addition to my quality rest, I’m eating on track. Yesterday (Monday) was my best day, food-wise, in a long time. I had six meals that had 300-500 calories every 3-4 hours. Also, all meals were well balanced. I was never hungry, which is crucial for ending the binge eating cycle. I’m also getting my exercise in… I’m finding it pretty much impossible to workout before breakfast because some days I have to be at work at 6am, and I just can’t wake up at 3am to exercise. However, things are working out well. I do get my workout in as early as I can, usually at lunch.

My highest priority right now is maintaining my current schedule, stay on track, drink plenty of water, and not get hungry. Also, I’m sticking to eating my own prepared foods. I get in trouble when I start eating snacks and meals that I’m not prepared for.

I’m going to take things one day at a time.

I paid $799 for a queen sized mattress almost two years ago that was SO uncomfortable and caused so much pain for our back that we actually just gave it away and took a comfy, supportive, fifteen year old bed that had been at my inlaws’ house instead. The right bed improves your life dramatically. If only I could get my money back!

I really love reading your blog. I have a binge eating problem as well and I often throw in the towel and then pick myself up and restart. It is really great to see somebody else picking themselves back up and not giving up. It gives me strength! Thanks!!
