Lazy Sunday and Good News About the Country Music Half Marathon

It’s been a good end to the weekend. This morning, we went to the grocery store to get our food for the week. Then I headed over to a local coffee shop for work. They are having trouble with their server. After that, lazy time. I’m resting after yesterday’s run, and also resting to prepare my body for the butt kicking that I’m gonna put it through next week.

Good news about the Country Music Half Marathon!!

I have a free ride and place to sleep. Thanks Randy!! My buddy is gonna run this half and says I can tag along with him. Soooooo, against my better judgment, I’m gonna try it. My body is in good shape. Let’s put it through a stress test: train for this race! The race date is Saturday, April 28th. 55 DAYS!! Stay tuned for details of my training.

If training goes well, this will be my first half marathon to run. (I walked the others.) Time will tell…

The biggest challenge to this race is the heat and humidity. I will seriously need to do some of my shorter runs in higher humidity to get my body acclimated. Most importantly though, is to get all of the training runs completed. No skipping. No excuses.

I’ve got my Iron Tribe workouts tossed in with my training. This should help tremendously!

I’m gonna stay positive and focus on each day, then see how I feel week before race time.

Are you running the Country Music Half? Have you run it before? If so, what did you think of the race?

I cant wait to hear about your progress and training!!

If you are interested…I just started a blog about two weeks ago called A THINderella Story (http://athinderellastory.blogspot.com/) — Sorry for the plug lol.
