Day two started with an early general session that included a few speakers and they surprised us (the 12 VIPs that were invited to the conference) with an Anytime Health 2i award (To Inspire). None of us had a clue about the award. It was a nice surprise, and something that we will always cherish. It was very cool because in a way, Anytime Health and Anytime Fitness gave those awards to us as a way to say, “job well done.”
Here’s a pic of the award:
Pics were taken of us individually receiving our award, and there was also a group shot taken. I’ll post those when they become available.
After the general session we had lunch, followed by lots and lots of free time.
I stayed down in the lobby area for a good while to type up yesterday’s blog post.
Then I explored outside the hotel for a little while, walked about .75 of a mile. Then I settled in at Murphy’s Irish Pub across the street from the hotel, and had a couple of Guinness pints. I told the bartender and this lovely, nice lady sitting at the bar a little about my story and why I was in DC. So, we had a delightful conversation. When I left, the lady at the bar gave me a big hug. I always manage to meet the coolest people when I’m out and about….
Later on, I met up with Robbie from FatGirlVSWorld… We had dinner and a couple of drinks at Murphry’s, then she came back and well, uh, crashed the Anytime Fitness party, and later on, I was really glad she did.
Here’s a Fat Girl sandwich (Tony, Robbie, and I) :

The party was on the back lawn of the hotel. It was a lovely venue. There was good (looking) food (ate before going to party), a band, and of course they had tatoo artists on sight, tatooing the Anytime Fitness Running Man on anybody that wanted a tatoo…. And there were a lot of folks getting the tatto, even myself.
HOWEVER, someone apparently really afraid of needles ended up fainting while waiting in line. Yes, yes, it was I that fainted. Apparently, I face planted up on stage. I could feel that it was going to happen, but I was in denial, then the next thing I remember is a bunch of people waking me up and screaming my name. At first I didn’t know what was going on. I felt like I woke up from a nap. Being that I’m so large, I know I had to scare the heck out of everyone, and they were all really helpful getting me water and cold presses (Thank you Robbie for your help. She’s certified for first aid.) They also helped me stand up and sit down on a chair. Then the paramedics and police arrived. I didn’t think that they called for assistance because after I sat down and drank some water, I felt fine. Anyway, they checked me out, checking my blood pressure, pulse, blood sugar. Everything was okay.
We even took a group pic of DC’s Finest and myself:

Once the paramedics left, the band started playing again. *shakes head* “He’s not dead! Party on!” ha ha ha
Finally, here’s the new duds that I wore, pre-faint:
Day 3 is about to be cranked up with a morning 5k, followed by another general session, a tour of DC, then the Ball tonight.

LOOOOOOOOOOVE the recap and glad youre just fine.
is there anything at which Robbie does not rock?
Take care of you.
Glad you are having a fabulous time, good to hear you are ok, so I guess the tatoo thing is out then!!!
I think I’ve been in Murphys Pub, my daughter and I stayed at the Gaylord when we were in D.C. earlier this year.
You are rockin’ the heck out of that black shirt!
That is one heck of a funny story about the tattoo…glad you are fine…great pic with the emergency crew!
Of course you meet great people when you are out…great people attract great people!
Miz — I saw that
Thank you darlin
And none of us called for police/paramedics, but i think it was the staff/hotel covering their liability. I’m just glad I could be there when you needed someone.
Now that’s a trophy & a day you’ll never forget. So, I guess when you reach your ideal weight a celebration tattoo is not the prize that awaits you?
Great pics and congrats on the award! More importantly, i’m glad you’re okay after what happened!
I am so glad that you are okay. Stay away from those needles
Wait, so no tattoo? Sheesh.
You look great! And it is awesome that you don’t take yourself too seriously. I loved reading this blog entry. Congratulations on winning the award! You mentioned a couple of pints – I thought you had given up alcohol because it made you feel depressed? Or is this something you now do just on special occasions? Enjoy the rest of the conference!
Don’t worry about the tattoo. That’s what Sharpie markers are for.
I am very, very glad you didn’t get a tattoo, even though you skipped it the hard way. Glad you’re fine and congrats on the award.
Can’t wait to read recap of Day 3!
Although I am totally bummed I wasn’t there for the faint or to meet the sexy EMTs!
Stephen. Toughen up before Florida. Passing out from needles is not good. I will have to take you through the Kettlebell Gauntlet.
