Milestone Motivation

Panama City Beach

Panama City Beach

So I have doing well on my nutrition the past couple of weeks. I discovered that I like raw carrots and celery. Also, I’ve discovered some fantastic salad recipies. I’ve done so well that I’m gonna stop logging my food everyday. Now, I’ve just got to get my a** to exercise.

I have been wanting to go to the beach for a few years now. I went about five years ago with some friends and had a blast. So I researched some prices and discovered that I can afford a weekend trip to the gulf. I can drive there in about 5-6 hours, so hotel, food, and gas for a Friday-Sunday trip should cost no more than $500 (I can probably get it down to $400, but I included a little padding.)

So, I’ve come up with my own reward for when I reach the 200 lb loss milestone, which will be when I get down to 432 lbs: I’m going to the beach.

If I can average 5lbs a week, I can be at the beach by the middle of May. Which will be perfect because the kiddies will still be in school, so no overcrowded beaches. I might just do a three day/two night trip during the week. No crowds, and the hotel should be cheaper.

In a nutshell: no weight loss, no beach. ;)

I know one thing, I’m not staying here:

Okay, so I really hope you make it to be the beach because the beach is awesome...secondly, it feels so good to reach goals. I'm on this path with you, and I'm pretty excited about goals I have in place. When I reach 200 pounds lost I'm going to Greece. I'm 75.4 pounds down right now so I hope to start planning for that trip around this time next year. Time flies, does it not?

Now you have me really excited about going to the beach. I might be headed to one myself in March, and if that's the case I can't wait. Being 75 pounds lighter means it will be so much easier to walk in the sand. I noticed it was easier when I was 27 pounds down back in June..so I'm thinking it will be a breeze. :)

Best of luck to you in reaching this goal. You are inspirational...just saying.
  • Great idea about giving yourself a vacation incentive! You are on the right track. Keep exercising regularly and don't beat yourself up if you don't make it, just vow to do it the next day. Keep it up. It's a journey. Keep walking and you will get there.

There's a blog award for you over on my post today!
Silly, yes, but just a little sumpin' sumpin'......
  • Haha, that resort name was hilarious! That's a good reward to give yourself. I love the beach.
  • The beach reward is a great idea!
  • I just gave you an award for your blog! Keep up the hard work!
  • Wow, what an awesome reward! Good luck! My motivation to exercise is largely based on this: I tell myself that regardless of my physical appearance, I am making my HEART strong, and without a strong ehart you can't live a long, healthy life. So I focus on the cahnges inside my body, not outside.
  • LOL! Sandy Balls! LOLOLOLOL!
Okay, now I'll act like a grownup...
Your beach reward sounds good, I have a "little" reward I'd like to give myself, and I'm saving money as I lose weight hoping that by the time I've gotten under 200 I'll be able to afford it. The hint to what it is on my weight loss ticker on my blog.
Be careful that your May trip doesn't coincide with Spring break!
  • Have you thought about an exercise class??? They really motivate me to keep going because I paid ahead of time AND there is a social aspect to it I enjoy. We have 5 guys in our aqua exercise class, 3 are hwp and one is overweight and its fun!
  • Amme
    OUTSTANDING!!!!
