Avacados and Another Workout

by Stephen Vinson on January 24, 2010

Last week I purchased some avocados because they were ten cents each. The problem was I didn’t know what to do with them. So, I asked my friends on facebook what I should do, and they gave me some fantastic suggestions. Here’s what I ended up making:

Avacado and Roma Tomato sandwich with homemade chicken noodle soup.

I also did another quick workout this morning including a bench press and dead lift. I can’t remember the name of the other exercise. It’s similar to a reverse curl.

Have a great playoff Sunday!!

I use avocados on my turkey sandwiches in place of Mayo. I love them and eat them regularly. I will also mash them up with a little pepper and dip tortilla chips or pita chips for a snack. Really though, they are a great sub for mayo!

I will have to try the substitute avocado for mayo. Thanks.

Avocados are so good for you but unfortunately I just can't stomache them.

I love avocados!!! I like them with some salt and fresh lime squeezed over them. I also love to make guacamole. One or two mashed avocados, lime juice, finely chopped red onion and chopped tomatoes. I use this as a dip for veggies or I just eat it. I don't eat grains but it is also good with whole wheat pita chips or something similar.

I am definitely going to make some guacamole. Right now I have been dipping veggies in a dip that I make with organic Greek yogurt and all natural, low sodium salsa. It is good!

Ooh, that looks really good. I wish I could find some avocados for 10 cents!

Good job getting in some activity.

Did you enjoy the avocados? I LOVE them but I have been known to binge on them (odd choice, I know!) They're so good for you in moderation, but I've never known a bloke enjoy them except in guacamole (which doesn't count!) It's a bit like cottage cheese – that seems to be a 'woman' food as well! Hope you're the exception that proves the rule!
