04/21/09 Weigh In Day
Well, today is the 21st, and if you haven’t noticed, I didn’t post anything for my Weigh In day yesterday. I had a bad food and health weekend. Friday night I had 10 chicken wings and a regular order of ranch fries. Which, I thought was no big deal, but this meal triggered in me an appetite for other bad crap. Now, the health part. Saturday, I woke up with a terrible sore throat. I tried throat spray and gargling hot salt water. There was no relief. Then Sunday, I still had the sore throat. Monday, the sore throat went away and now my sinuses were stuffed up and I was coughing up nasty stuff. So on Mon. I went to the doc and found out I have a sinus infection. Now I’m on antibiotics and taking it easy at home. Also, my left ear is starting to throb. So I might be getting an ear infection to boot. It’s a two for one special.
Now the embarrassing food part: I ate all that I could find to stop the sore throat pain this weekend. Of course non of it worked. I ate a lot of my salty trail mix. Well, when I say a lot, I mean I ate the whole damn bag. There were a few occasions where I consumed a teaspoon of honey to try and relieve the pain. Also, I didn’t follow my food schedule, I just ate.
And another thing, I must confess that I weighed last week. I really want to weigh just once a month, but I find it hard. I might switch over to twice a month. This is a compromise between the weekly and monthly thing. I feel ashamed of myself because I have been doing so well, but once I feel better I will start walking and swimming again. I hope to swim again on Friday. This reminds me, I skipped swimming last Friday for no good reason. I felt fine, but my excuse was “I’m tired”.
Tomorrow, I start following my food schedule again.
Now for the weigh in: last Thursday I weighed 582, but on my official weigh in day I weighed 592. Thus, I ballooned up 10 pounds in 2 days. I really believe majority of that weight is fluid. I know I ate some bad stuff, but not enough to gain 10 pounds. Who knows, maybe I’m in denial.
Tomorrow I start my daily posting again with my list of food that I ate. To me, it gets boring, but it produces great results. Once I feel better, I think I will also give that personal trainer a call. See what she can help me out with.
I had some great news at the docs office. My BP was 132/80. I noticed though that they manually checked my BP and I was sitting down. Normally I stand and they use an automated machine. I’ve heard that it’s best to get your BP checked sitting down.
What do you think I could have done to prevent this bad weekend from happening? I want to be disciplined and never stray from my plan.
