Today was better than yesterday. I have a prospective buyer for my camera and I had an incredible swim. I swam 12 laps, but the coolest part is that I could swim 3 and 4 consecutive laps.
The pool is 25 yards or 75 feet long. So, one complete lap is 50 yards or 150 feet. Thus it would take 35 laps to swim one mile.
When I swam at the Y last year, I could only do half a lap at a time, but after a few days, I could swim an entire lap. Then 2. But at this new pool I have started strong. I hope to be swimming a mile every workout in two months. I am thinking about water aerobics, but I’ve never been. Have you ever been to water aerobics? Put what you thought about it in the comments section.
My arms and legs feel tight, which feels good. I didn’t overdo it.
Have a good weekend.

Well, the video above proves that it is actually possible to lose that much weight. Sometimes I think that it isn’t possible.
Tomorrow is another day. I will wake up and go through the motions, just like the last 10,786 days.

THE SWIM IS ON!
So, tomorrow at 4pm I go and sign up. They have an $80 sign up fee, and a monthly $47 fee. The minimum agreement is six months. My mom gave me $150 this weekend for Easter. Recently her brother paid her back some money that he owed her, and she knew I was down from last week. She told me to buy something fun, like a video game, but I knew that if this gym worked out, that money would go towards the gym.
Did the stairs today, but no walking. I do plan on keeping up my stairs and walking. Swimming is an additional exercise. I will probably start with 3 times a week for the swimming. I also plan on trying out water aerobics. I’ll try to remember to take some pics at the gym tomorrow. I have to find my heart rate monitor for the pool.
Finally, I had to go to docs office so they could sign a consent form for the gym. I had my BP tested and it was 122/93 – pretty good

Sunday 04/05/09
Watched the NASCAR race at Bob’s again this Sunday. Jeff Gordon ended his slump and Kyle Bush did poorly. Perfect!
I did pretty good today. I have got to plan something for next weekend. Hopefully I’ll have good news about the pool tomorrow, and be able to swim next week. I forgot to mention that the gym also has a therapeutic warm pool which will be perfect when I have muscle pain. I really hope this works out.
On a final note, I have been working this weekend on offering a phone system, and it’s actually very simple. So, I’ll probably be finished with all of the paperwork, training, and marketing materials by Friday.
Peace!

Saturday 04/04/09 – I ate a bunny :(
Went to the grocery this morning and I did a bad thing: I bought some Easter candy, and I gobbled it all up. Fortunately, we didn’t buy a lot. You can see what I ate below. Honestly, I didn’t enjoy it. The chocolate bunny was very, very sweet.
Also, I ate way too much at supper. Tomorrow is another day and I don’t plan on doing this again.

Today was much better than yesterday. I wasn’t very busy at work but I did spend some time researching phone systems. Surprisingly, they are very easy to implement. So, my goal is to be a one stop shop for small businesses. Anything technology related, I want them to call me. I will be their adviser for anything technology related.
Okay, enough work talk. I did a lot of walking today and it felt great. Also, I noticed that I’m finding it easier to walk.
I may have a new swimming spot soon. I can’t remember if I posted this or not on the blog, so here it is: Last year I swam at the Y for a few months. I don’t like locker rooms because I’m uncomfortable undressing in front of others and I really don’t like seeing a bunch of naked dudes, especially guys that don’t care that they’re naked, and start conversing with everyone while they are in the buff. Yuck! So, when I swam at the Y, I would arrive when they opened at 5:00am so I could get a good parking space, and I also would wear my swimming gear. After swimming, I would drive home wet, which sucked. I draped the driver’s seat of my truck with plastic but water would still get on the seat. When the weather got cold, I stopped going to the Y.
But now, I might have access to a couple of indoor pools at St Vincents hospital. They have a gym open to the public. But, the best news is that they might have some areas in the locker room where curtains can be closed for privacy, and they have a parking deck so I don’t have to worry about parking. At the Y, I had to park on the street. If there wasn’t a spot near the entrance, I wouldn’t go because I would leave wet. It’s very uncomfortable walking around in wet clothes.
I will find out Monday if they have the curtain areas in the men’s locker room. If they don’t, I’ll keep searching for a place to swim.
I will catch up on my blog reading tomorrow.
Finally, thanks everybody for your comments from yesterday.

I got some bad news at work today. My only contract customer is not renewing their contract at the end of the term. I run a very small computer repair business, and I want to build my commercial business, and this news really bummed me out. I didn’t even work today, I just sat at home and moped around. I ate some extra peanuts and pretzels this afternoon, but nothing too drastic. I just don’t know what to do. I’m behind on one bill (a big advertising bill).
I’m in a slump at work. I just don’t have any confidence in myself. It seems every time I pitch something to a business, they say it’s too expensive, yet my prices are lower than everyone else. To be honest, I just want to sit down and cry, but fortunately I haven’t done that yet.
Ironically, I lost my contract customer because they want to spend a lot of money on a system. But, they want to spend it on a voip phone system that integrates with their email, and they also want blackberries with a blackberry server. I don’t do phones but I do blackberries. Of course, the new person they found to do the phones says that he prefers to manage the entire network and phone system, which makes sense.
I researched the phone system that they are implementing and it’s actually very easy to setup and install. So, I might start trying to sell it. But, like I said earlier, every time I pitch something over $1000, the business balks at the price. I guess I should start targeting customers that want this stuff, but my confidence is so low because others say no to what I’ve pitched.
My business goal this year is just to break even. I really don’t want to go into bankruptcy.
I will not be renewing my phone book advertising.
Sorry my thoughts are all over the place, but I am really depressed right now. I feel like I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.
I’m going to sell my camera gear and studio lighting. I can probably get $2500 for that. I’m thinking about selling my drums because they have been sitting in the corner collecting dust for years. I do want to set them up to play, but I must set my priorities.
I was just thinking that my spending is like how I used to eat. I buy anything I want on credit card like I used to eat anything I wanted. I AM on a spending diet right now, but it may be too late.
I hope you had a better day than I did.

Today went by really fast because I was so busy at work. Can you believe it’s already April? Hell, football will be starting before we know it.
Well, the playboy bunny and apple computer guy didn’t make it on Dancing With the Stars. No surprise there. I did like Steve from Apple though.
I’m not keeping up with American Idol so far this year. I guess I’m getting tired of it, and they keep changing it.
My throat still feels like it has a lump sometimes. It’s uncomfortable but I’ll live with it. Also, my ear ache is pretty much gone. The Advil and OTC ear drops worked well.
